EOMeasySet a site up once, then clone it forward each month
EOMeasy is built to be configured once and repeated. You define your volumes, boundaries and settings in the first month; every month after, you clone the period forward and just repoint the surfaces. The setup work happens once, not every month-end.
First month: set the site up
Create the project and the first period, then add each volume you report on, one per pit, stage or bench:
- Give the volume a name, and add its start and end surface. Surfaces come from your CAD package (Vulcan or PointStudio), or straight from a point cloud if you fly a drone.
- Add a boundary, or leave it blank for point clouds to measure over the surveyed overlap.
- Set the material, which drives the by-material report, and the grid resolution.
- Run the period. Read the cut, fill, net and the report on Reading your results.
If you are getting surfaces out of a CAD package, the export macro names and matches them for you, so setup is mostly naming your objects once. See the Vulcan and PointStudio pages for that.
Every month after: clone forward
Cloning a period forward carries the whole configuration into the new month so you are not rebuilding it. It:
- copies every volume's boundary and grid resolution,
- rolls last month's end surface into this month's start, so the months join up with no gap, and
- blanks the end surface, ready for you to point at the new survey.
So the month-end job shrinks to: clone forward, point each volume at its new end surface, and run.
An unpointed volume refuses to run, on purpose
Because clone-forward blanks the end surface, a volume you forget to repoint has no end survey, and EOMeasy stops rather than quietly recomputing last month's movement. A missing surface is a visible error you can fix, not a silently wrong number that ships in a report.
Running totals across the months
Once you have a few periods, EOMeasy tracks the cumulative figure: the opening balance plus the net of each run period, windowed by the most recent reset point. Set a reset when a stockpile is cleared or a stage closes out, and the running total starts fresh from there. Everything in one run
A single run batches every volume you have configured, each keeping its own boundary, surfaces, material and resolution. You are not opening and keying one stage at a time; you set the site up once, clone it forward, and run the lot in one pass.
